Shakespeare's Audience

Shakespeare's audience consisted of men and women from all background of the society. Those who used to sit in the pit used to create a lot of disturbances. There used to be fights and quarrel. The ladies, gentlemen, the critics and authors generally occupied a better seat. The noblemen used to sit in the boxes, which were on each side of the stage or on the stage. The women were allowed to sit only after hiding their faces with masks.
